A 40-year-old man from Okpoma village in Yala Local Government Area, Cross River State, Dominic Iyayi Ogar, has thrown his in-laws into mourning following the gruesome murder of his wife and their only daughter.
Ogar is alleged to have committed the dastardly act on October 8, 2016 in Mpape, Abuja. Sunday Sun reporter learnt from the Commissioner of Police, Federal Capital Territory Command, Mr. Mohammed Mustafa, that Ogar, who slept with his wife and their only daughter on the same bed, woke up suddenly in the middle of the night, took a knife and stabbed both of them to death, and they died instantly.
Mustafa said that Ogar then carried the corpses of the dead 27-year-old wife, Omago and the daughter, two-year-old Blessing to a nearby nursery and primary school in the area; he allegedly wrote a small note and dropped it beside the corpses and then ran off to hide in his farm.
His evil deed, however, came to light when one of his neighbours, Destiny Onwusuaka, noticed a trail of blood that led to the door of the family house. In a chat with Sunday Sun reporter, Onwusuaka said: “It was around 7:00am when I discovered stains of blood on the floor and followed the trail to the door of Ogar. When I looked into the room, I saw a pool of blood but I didn’t see the husband or the victims.
“It was later that I saw the two corpses where the husband dropped them. I shouted and called our neighbours. We then ran to the police to report what we saw. We started searching for the husband. It took four days before we found him and arrested him in his farm on October 11, 2016.
Following the arrest of the suspect, the corpses of the deceased were moved to the mortuary of the National Hospital, Abuja.
At the Criminal Investigation Department of the FCT Police Command, where he spoke with Sunday Sun, Ogar said: “I don’t have a job, I cannot feed my family, I can only feed myself, and God should forgive me for what I have done.
“I don’t know what came to my mind; it was frustration that led me to stab my wife and only daughter to enable me survive in life.”
As it stands now, Mustafa said that Ogar’s hope of surviving in life now lies at the discretion of the court where he would soon be arraigned to answer charges.

See 13 Shocking Reasons Emmanuel Adebayor Converted To Muslim

adebayor
That the African footballer Emmanuel Adebayor converted to a Muslim is no longer news as the Aston Villa bound striker had also confirmed it.
The 32-year-old has finally addressed the issue by giving reasons he converted to Islam. He justified his new found faith by saying Muslims are like Jesus and also described them as” truer followers of Christ”.
Read below:
1. Jesus (pbuh) taught that there is only One God and Only God should be worshipped as taught in Deut 6:4, Mark 12:29. Muslims also believe this as taught in the Qur’an verse 4:171.
2. Jesus (pbuh) didn’t eat pork as taught in Leviticus 11:7 , and neither do Muslims as taught in the Qur’an verse 6:145.
3. Jesus (pbuh) greeted with the words “as salaamu alaikum” (Peace be with you) in John 20:21. Muslims also greet each other this way.
4. Jesus (pbuh) always said “God Willing” (inshallah), Muslims say this too before doing anything as taught in the Qur’an verses 18:23-24.
5. Jesus (pbuh) washed his face, hands, and feet before praying. The Muslims do the same.
6. Jesus (pbuh) and other prophets of the Bible prayed with their head to the ground (see Matthew26:39). Muslims do too as taught in the Qur’an verse 3:43.
7. Jesus (pbuh) had a beard and wore a throbe. It is Sunnah for Muslim men to do the same.
8. Jesus (pbuh) followed the law and believed in all the prophets, (see Matthew 5:17). Muslims do too as taught in the Qur’an verses 3:84, and 2:285.
9. Jesus’ mother Maryam (pbuh) dressed modestly by fully covering her body and wearing a headscarf (hijab) as found in 1 Timothy 2:9, Genesis 24:64-65, and Corinthians 11:6. Muslim women modestly dress the same as taught in the Qur’an verse 33:59.
10. Jesus (pbuh) and other prophets of the Bible fasted up to 40 days (see Exodus 34:28, Daniel 10:2-6. 1Kings 19:8, and Matthew 4:1-Muslims do so also during the month of Ramadan. Muslims are required to fast the full obligatory 30 days (see Qur’an 2:183), and others take it a step further by fasting an additional 6 days to increase their rewards.
11. Jesus (pbuh) taught to say “Peace to this house” when entering it (see Luke 10:5), and to also greet the people in the house with “peace be unto you”. Muslims do exactly what Jesus did and taught. When we enter our homes and the homes of others we say “Bismillah” and also greet with “as salaamu alaikum” (peace be upon you) as taught in the Qur’an verse 24:61.
12. Jesus (pbuh) was circumcised. Circumcision is 1 of the 5 fitrah in Islam, so Muslim men are required to be circumcised. According to the Bible in Luke 2:21, Jesus was eight days old when he was circumcised.
13. Jesus (pbuh) spoke aramaic and called God”Elah”, which is pronounced the same as “Allah”. Aramaic is an ancient, Biblical language. It is one of the Semitic languages that also include Hebrew, Arabic, Ethiopic and the ancient Assyrian and Babylonian language of Akkadian. The Aramaic “Elah” and the Arabic “Allah” are the same.

“On (the day of) Jumu’ah is an hour during which Allah gives to a Muslim servant standing in prayer whatever he asks for.”
[Bukhari & Muslim]

FACT #5
Giving your charity on Jummah carries more virtue than other days.
Ka’b, narrated that Rasulullah Sall Allahu Alayhi Wa Sallam said:

“Charity given during the day of Jumu’ah is greater (in reward) than any other day.”

FACT #6
Believers in Allah will see Allah on Jumu'ah.

FACT #7
It is a day of  Eid for muslims that happens regularly every week. Rasulullah (SallAllahu Alayhi Wa Sallam) said:
“Jumu’ah is a day of celebration, so whoever attends it should perform ghusl beforehand.”
[Ibn Majah]

FACT #8
It is a day on which sins are forgiven. Salman ( radiallaahu anhu) narrated Rasulullah (SallAllahu Alayhi Wa Sallam) said:

“Any man who performs ghusl on Friday, perfumes himself if he has perfume, wears the best of his clothes, then goes to the mosque & offers as many prayers as he wishes while not harming anybody, then listens quietly while the Imam speaks until he offers the prayer, will have all his sins between that Friday & the next forgiven.”
[Al Bukhari]

FACT #9
When walking to attend the Friday sermon, a Muslim gets the reward of both praying qiyam (the night prayer) & fasting a full year. Aws ibn Aws (RadiyAllahu Anhu) narrated Rasulullah (SallAllahu Alayhi Wa Sallam) said:

“Whoever performs ghusl e janabah on Friday, then goes early to the mosque and attends from the beginning of the khutbah & draws near to the Imam &  listens to him attentively, Allah will give him the full reward of fasting all the days of a year & observing night-vigil on each of its nights for every step that he took towards the mosque.”
[Ahmad]

FACT #10
Dying on Friday, during the day or night, is a sign of a good end.  Rasulullah (SallAllahu Alayhi Wa Sallam) said:

“Any Muslim who dies during the day or night of Friday will be protected by Allah from the trial of the grave.”
[At Tirmidhi & Ahmad]

Brazilian hair: The craze for Brazilain, Peruvian, Indian and all other sort of human hair is common practice among Nigerian women. Some women are locked down upon their offices, schools and social event if they are not wearing one on their head. The truth is these human hair cost a fortune and with the new exchange rate, their price will double. So ladies lets come back to our roots for the sake of our economy.

Multiple Phones: Having more than one expensive phone in Nigeria, is how people announce that they are rich (even though they gathered all they had to buy them). It wouldn’t kill anyone to maintain just one phone and if your old phone spoils just take it to the repairer, no point buying a new one.
La Manga Ilashe
Holiday in Nigeria: There are several amazing holiday resorts like Tinapa in Calabar, Obudu in Crossriver, La Manga beach resort in Lagos and many other exotic places. These places are amazing enough to give you that sweet holiday you so desire. Visit them, and if you have gone to all of them you can visit them again. At this point, it is very reasonable to stay away from the West from now.

Don’t buy new cars: The exchange rate has affected everything that we do not produce. Therefore in order to survive this very unpleasant economic times, the best bet is to manage your old cars and service them as you should. Buying a new car now would cost twice its old price.

Agriculture: This is a good time to put your farming skills into practice. There is a lot Nigerians can do for themselves now by growing their own food. Instead of  depending so much on unhealthy imported frozen food, one can learn to grow chicks, have a fish or pig farm. Those countries Nigerians depend on, started from that – We too can do it.

This wide range of talent which Nigeria possess in abundance have lost their skills or do not know they have the skill because of over dependence on the west. These talents can be harnessed just as China did. Nigerians are intelligent people, think of what you can produce and sell to your fellow Nigerians. It starts from there.

Nigerian Linguist Creates Multi-lingual Keyboard.

Nigerian Linguist Creates Multi-lingual Keyboard

Adebunmi Adeniran, a Nigerian linguist based in the United Kingdom has invented a multilingual keyboard which supports and enables writing in at least 12 Nigerian languages correctly as well as the use of correct signs and tones to give instant meaning to the reader.
The multilingual keyboard known as “Nailangs” is aimed at ensuring that Nigerian local languages are learned with ease so as to prevent the languages from going into extinction, said Adebunmi.
nailaings
How it works
Unlike Konyin’s multilingual computer keyboard which was only available for desktop, Nailangs keyboard is available for download on all platforms such as Google Playstore, the iOS store and Windows (Desktop) for easy access with attached fee of N2,397.04, $9.99, N4000 respectively.
After the download is complete, users can type in the three official Nigerian languages, Hausa, Igbo and Yoruba, alongside other recognised languages which include Efik, Idoma, Hausa/Fulani, Tiv among others, Adebunmi said.
Nailangs seeks to provide a solution for addressing many who complain that their names are often mutilated as a result of the inadequacy of the already existing computer keyboards.
Beyond the Keyboard
Adebunmi expressed dissatisfaction at the rate which, in recent times, Nigerians use their dialect as a secondary language instead of their primary language. However, she praised the Urhobo people for their passion to speak and write their dialect hence, the Urhobo language made the list of the 12 languages on the Nailangs keyboard despite not being a part of the more recognised languages.
Adebunmi has established a website that teaches Yoruba language as well as a partnership with some Yoruba afterschool clubs that can teach children the Yoruba language once they return from school, particularly in Lagos.
She hopes this invention will go a long way in re-instituting the pride associated with languages in Nigeria and subsequently become the national keyboard for Nigeria in the nearest future.

This was shared by respected Comedian Alibaba, but I have a thing or two to add to it. I come from a family that gives high value to “respect”, so whenever I come across a young lady who talks anyhow, it’s only a matter of time before I send her away from my sight. The way some ladies talk to men these days you will wonder the kind of parents they have and how they were trained by such parents.
Of course there are good ladies and whenever I come across any I tell her to keep it up. But for those who splash their man with insulting or hate words, you’re on your own oh! Read this love encounter…

You can’t see me insulting someone, man or woman, either you are older or young. That’s an insecure act.

Buhari is Repeating Economic Error He Made As Dictator 30 Years Ago [The Economist]

The Economist has warned that Nigeria’s president, Muhammadu Buhari is making an economic blunder by refusing to devalue Nigeria’s currency, the naira.

The news magazine said “Instead of letting the naira depreciate to reflect the country’s loss of purchasing power, Mr Buhari’s government is trying to keep it aloft.”

Two Important Management Lessons You All Must Learn From A 500 Naira Note (Must See)

nigeria_cbn_500_naira_2015.00.00_b228q_p30_p-66_290462_f
MAKE A MOVE
1. It happened some time ago. I was in an audience listening to a motivational speaker. The speaker got out his wallet & pulled out a 500 Naira note. Holding it up, he asked, “Who wants this 500 naira note?” Lots of hands went up. Including mine. A slow chorus began to build as people began to shout “Me!” “Me!” I began to wonder who the lucky one would be who the speaker would choose. And I also secretly wondered (and I am sure others did too) why he would simply give away 500 naira.
Even as the shouts of “I want it” grew louder, I noticed a young woman running down the aisle. She ran upon to the stage, went up to the speaker, and grabbed the five 500 naira note from his hand. “Well done, young lady,” said the speaker into the microphone.
The speaker simply say “Most of us just sit and wait for good things to happen. That’s of no use. You’ve got to make things happen. Make a move” ‘Simply thinking about doing something is of no use and not good enough’. Our lives are like that. We all see opportunities around us. We all want the good things. But the problem is we don’t take action. We all want the 500 naira notes on offer. But we don’t make the move. We look at it longingly. Get up, and do something about it. Don’t worry about what other people might think.
TAKE ACTION
2. Later, the speaker got another 500 naira note and held it up for all to see, I thought I knew what’s up. But he just asked a simple question. “How much is this worth?” “Five Hundred naira!” the crowd yelled in unison. “Right,” said the speaker. He then took the note and crumpled it into a ball and asked “How much is it worth now?”
“Five Hundred naira!” screamed the audience. He then threw the note on the ground, stamped all over it and picked up the note and asked one more time: “And how much is it worth now?” “Five Hundred naira!” was the response. “I want you to remember this,” said the speaker. “Just because someone crumples it, or stamps on it, the value of the note does not diminish. We should all be like the 500 naira note.. In our lives, there will be times when we feel crushed, stamped over, beaten. But never let your self-worth diminish. Just because someone chooses to crush you — that doesn’t change your worth one bit!
Don’t allow your self-worth to diminish because someone says something nasty or does something dirty to you.” Never let your self-worth diminish.
Culled from Nairaland.

Seize any money I own in foreign accounts – Akpabio dares Buhari

Godswill-Akpabio1A former governor of Akwa Ibom State, Senator Godswill Akpabio has denied owning any property in Dubai, United Arab Emirate or any other foreign country. He then challenged the President Muhammadu Buhari-led administration to seize any money found in a foreign bank account bearing his name.
The Senate Minority Leader stated this on Friday in a statement issued by his media assistant, Anietie Ekong, where he denied a newspaper report that he had made a secret attempt to withdraw $7.2 billion from banks in Dubai, United Arab Emirate, through channels in the Central Bank of Nigeria.
It would be recalled that President Muhammadu Buhari had recently signed agreements with the United Arab Emirate on the repatriation of Nigeria’s stolen funds deposited in that country. This move is believed to have unsettled corrupt, former and serving Nigerians officials, who have unexplained wealth and property there.

I won’t kill naira – Buhari rejects devaluation.

I won’t kill naira – Buhari rejects devaluation.

buhari gasPresident Muhammadu Buhari has declared late Wednesday in Nairobi that he was yet to be convinced that Nigeria and its people will derive any tangible benefit from an official devaluation of the Naira.
In a statement issued by the Senior Special Adviser to the President on Media & Publicity, Garba Shehu, the President was quoted as saying at an interactive meeting with Nigerians living in Kenya, that while export-driven economies could benefit from devaluation of their currencies, devaluation will only result in further inflation and hardship for the poor and middle classes in Nigeria’s import-dependent economy.
The President added that he had no intention of bringing further hardship on the country’s poor who, he said, have suffered enough already.
Likening devaluing the Naira to having it “killed”, President Buhari said that proponents of devaluation will have to work much harder to convince him that ordinary Nigerians will gain anything from it.
The President also rejected suggestions that the Central Bank of Nigeria should resume the sale of foreign exchange to Bureaux de Change (BDCs), saying that the Bureau de Change business had become a scam and a drain on the economy.
“We had just 74 of the bureaux in 2005, now they have grown to about 2,800,” President Buhari noted.
He alleged that some bank and government officials used surrogates to run the BDCs and prosper at public expense by obtaining foreign exchange from government at official rates and selling it at much higher rates.
“We will use our foreign exchange for industry, spare parts and the development of needed infrastructure.
“We don’t have the Dollars to give to the BDCs. Let them go and get it from wherever they can, other than the Central Bank,” President Buhari was quoted to have told the gathering.
The President reaffirmed his conviction that about a third of petroleum subsidy payments under the previous administration was bogus.
“They just stamped papers and collected our foreign exchange,” he said.
The President appealed to Nigerians studying abroad to bear with his administration as it strives to address the challenges they are facing as a result of new foreign exchange measures.
He said that he was optimistic that the Nigerian economy will stabilize soon with the efficient implementation of measures and policies that have been introduced by his administration.

LOL! Eritrea Forced Polygamy Report Is FALSE Story.

LOL! Eritrea Forced Polygamy Report Is FALSE Story.

Polygamy
Oops, Standard Newspaper on Monday published the story and misled all of us, LOL. A satirical story that Eritrean men have been ordered to marry at least two wives, which has been shared across Africa has turned out to be FALSE.
“Even a madman in [the Eritrean capital] Asmara would know that this story was not true,” an Eritrean official told the BBC.
The hoax was first published online on a Kenyan news site called Crazy Monday. Some men have even declared their readiness to relocate to Eritrea to find a new wife.
Crazy Monday, which is published by the Standard newspaper, is well known for its focus on scandalous stories and gossip as part of an attempt to attract a younger readership, says Mathias Muindi from the BBC’s media monitoring service unknown to us.
But this has gone wide in so many African countries with Nigeria and South Africa taking the lead.
As you know, it has been trending on Nigerian Twitter for days with some sharing links to the Eritrea’s visa application documents. Some male celebrities have even joked about relocating to Eritrea with so many memes also been passed around. So now you know, it’s false, let it slide.  Sorry to all the guyz who are preparing to travel there.. oyo is your case…
